Subtitles read aloud

Desktop app

  • Speak the subtitles: a voice on your PC reads a subtitle file (.srt or .vtt) line by line at the right times, and the result is one sound track for your video. Lines that are too long are spoken a little faster to fit. Nothing leaves your PC.
  • You find it in Sound Studio (Speak subtitles, with one file per speaker if you like, each on its own line), in Media Studio's text panel once it has subtitles, and in the chat: ask GlirOS to read a subtitle file aloud.
  • GlirOS guesses the language from the words and asks you when it isn't clear, and it only offers voices that speak that language.
  • Fixed: in Sound Studio, choosing a sound under From the chat now adds it.

Web version

  • In the browser version the subtitles are read in English with the natural voice, at its own speed; the desktop app can also speed lines up to fit.
  • On a phone, the line beside the send button no longer squeezes into a tall column: it gets its own line under the buttons, and the small-helper reminder is left out there, since the line under the box already says answers can be wrong.
