Skills: exact answers the chat fetches when needed
A skill is a small function the chat fetches the first time a question needs it, for answers a model often gets wrong. Skills aren't part of GlirOS itself and have no window.
The first: Exact maths (sums with every digit, fractions, percent, VAT, discounts, tips and a bill split), Calendar maths (working days, public holidays, repeating dates, ages, sunrise and sunset, the moon), the Cube solver (scrambles and solves a 3×3 cube), Text and lines (word and character counts, sorting and de-duplicating lines, comparing two texts, CSV and Markdown tables; with the Text counter tool switched on, the tool does the counting) and Everyday calculators (loans, savings, BMI, calorie needs, heart-rate zones, blood sugar units, a pregnancy's due date and weeks; general information, not medical or financial advice, and its calls aren't written to the chat log).
The first time
The chat asks once: "Fetch the Exact maths skill from tools.gliros.com? Nothing about your question is sent." Fetch gets it now, Always lets the chat fetch skills without asking from then on, and Not now answers without it (that chat doesn't ask again). An offline or incognito chat never fetches one, nor does GlirOS while all network traffic is blocked; a skill already on the device still works there.
In the answer
The model gets the skill's result and uses it as given; under the answer a card says "Worked out by the <name> skill" with the result. A skill runs on your device in a sandbox with no network; a slow one is stopped after its time limit, and Stop ends it at once. A skill that handles private numbers says "This skill's call isn't written to the chat log."
Settings
Settings > Tools > Skills the chat can fetch when needed: the switch (on after Always), the skills fetched with their size and Remove. Every fetch is listed in How this answer was made > What left this device. In the web version skills are kept in this browser.
This guide is the same text GlirOS itself uses to answer questions about GlirOS.
