How it works
GlirOS on an Android phone
Use GlirOS on your own PC from Chrome on your phone, and put it on the home screen like an app.
There is no GlirOS app in the Play Store: on an Android phone you use GlirOS in Chrome. The best way is to open your own PC with remote access: the AI runs on the PC, and the phone shows it. Set it up once on the PC, then allow the phone once.
What you need
- An Android phone with a current Chrome. Remote access needs Chrome 137 or newer; if it says This browser is too old for remote access, update Chrome from the Play Store.
- Your Windows PC with GlirOS, switched on and awake, with GlirOS running.
- A GlirOS account with a confirmed e-mail address.
Use Chrome itself, not a browser built into another app. Install from Chrome too: Google Play Protect may block an app installed from another browser, such as Samsung Internet.
On the PC, once
- Sign in at home.gliros.com, open Devices and choose Link a new device. You get an 8-character code that works once, for 10 minutes.
- In GlirOS on the PC, open Settings > Remote access. Under Link this PC to your account, type the code, give the PC a name and choose Link.
- Switch on Allow remote access. The status then says Ready: you can open this PC at app.gliros.com.
On the phone
- In Chrome, open app.gliros.com and sign in. My desktop apps lists your linked PCs, Online or Offline.
- Choose Connect next to your PC (or the big Connect to … button with its name, at the top). The page shows the PC's key fingerprint: compare it with the one in Settings > Remote access on the PC. If they differ, stop.
- The first time, the PC asks Allow remote access from …? Choose Allow at the PC. Or choose Show a code instead there, or open Settings > Remote access > Allowed browsers > Allow a browser > Make a code, and type the 8-character code on the phone. A code lasts 10 minutes.
After that the phone goes straight in.
Put it on the home screen
In Chrome's menu (⋮), choose Install app (or Add to Home screen). The GlirOS PC icon then opens your PCs full screen, like an app. See Install the web version as an app.
Using it
Your PC's own GlirOS fills the screen: chats, tools and files work as they do on the PC. The PC must stay on and awake, with GlirOS running. Folders, model files, Settings > Security and remote access itself can only be changed on the PC. On the PC, a Windows notification says when a session starts and ends.
If it doesn't connect
- The PC shows as Offline: it is off or asleep, GlirOS isn't running, or Allow remote access is off.
- No internet on the phone or on the PC. Settings > Security > Block all network traffic on the PC stops remote access too.
- This browser is too old for remote access: update Chrome.
- The PC asks again: a private (incognito) tab, or cleared site data, gives Chrome a new key, so the PC asks once more. Use a normal tab.
- A code doesn't work: it lasts 10 minutes and has a few tries; make a new one on the PC.
If you lose the phone
Keep a screen lock on the phone. On the PC, remove the phone under Settings > Remote access > Allowed browsers: its session ends at once, and it has to be allowed again. Nothing of the session is kept on GlirOS's servers: the relay only passes encrypted data on. More in How remote access works.
Models on the phone itself
Chrome on a recent phone can also run the web version's small models on the phone, but phones are weak for models of their own. For anything bigger, open your PC as above, or use a cloud model with your own API key. What each version needs: What your PC and browser need.
