How it works
Selling a tool
GlirOS is free, but you can sell a tool you made through the reviewed GlirOS catalogue.
GlirOS itself is free and stays free. If you have made a tool that is worth paying for, you can sell it through the reviewed GlirOS catalogue. You are the seller: your buyers pay you, through your own licence server, and GlirOS takes no share of your sales. GlirOS lists the tool, checks the licence in the app, and never tells you who a GlirOS user is.
How it works

- Become a creator on community.gliros.com/sell: your seller details (name or company, organisation number for a company, address, country and a support e-mail). They are shown with the tool in GlirOS: "Sold by …, not by GlirOS", or "Sold by … through Paddle, not by GlirOS" when a payment company sells it for you as merchant of record. You must be 18 or older and accept the creator terms.
- Set up a licence server with your payment provider: Paddle, Stripe or PayPal. GlirOS is making a free licence kit for it (subscriptions, trials, cancel at any time, receipts); you can also run your own.
- Register the tool: a link to its package with
paid.json, its monthly price and your provider. The package holds the tool's files at its root or in one folder, with no subfolders, andpaid.jsonmust not carrylisted_untilormor: the catalogue adds them. Before anything is saved, GlirOS checks the package as the catalogue will, and asks your licence server. Nothing secret is ever asked for: your server keeps its signing key and payment keys. - Review: GlirOS goes through the tool and its paid-tool checklist, and e-mails you the result: approved, changes asked for, or refused, with a note.
- Subscribe to the listing: a monthly fee to GlirOS for being in the catalogue, which depends on your tool's price; the page shows it before you pay. Paddle takes the payment as the seller (merchant of record) and adds VAT where due.
- Listed: the tool is in the next catalogue, and buyers can buy it and start a trial in GlirOS. When someone buys, your server gives them a licence key; the app trades it for a short signed licence and checks it on the device. It works offline for up to 7 days, then refreshes.
A new version is a new package link; it is reviewed while the approved version stays listed.
The listing subscription
You see and cancel it on home.gliros.com > Subscriptions, with Payment and receipts for the card and Paddle's invoices. A cancelled listing runs to the end of the paid month. If a payment fails, Paddle tries again and the tool stays listed for a few days meanwhile. Withdrawing or deleting a tool ends its listing at the end of the paid month by itself. When the listing ends, the next catalogue leaves the tool out and Buy goes away in GlirOS; licences your buyers already have keep working until they end.
What we check before listing a paid tool
- Who you are, and that the seller details in
paid.jsonmatch. - The price including VAT, and that cancelling is as easy as buying.
- Your rules for trials, refunds and the right of withdrawal.
- Working links to your terms and your privacy policy.
- No non-commercial models or add-ons in a paid tool (face swap, CodeFormer, face age, or anything else licensed for non-commercial use only).
- The tool passes the normal tool review.
Be honest with your buyers
A licence check inside a tool that runs on the buyer's device can be bypassed by someone determined. It keeps honest users honest. If part of your tool must be protected, keep that part on your own server.
