Languages

GlirOS itself speaks English, Norwegian, Spanish, French, Italian and German (Settings > General > Language). The GlirOS Helper follows that choice: with Norwegian it runs Borealis from the National Library of Norway, which answers in Norwegian; with the other languages it runs Qwen3 0.6B, which is built mainly for English (on phones smaller models). GlirOS also understands its own everyday requests in all six languages (the time, pictures, the picture tool, finding files, plans). If you write in a language the model in use doesn't handle, GlirOS says so under the answer and offers to switch the language or the model. Gemma 2 9B and Qwen3.5 4B (Settings > Models), and cloud models, handle English, Norwegian and Spanish.
