The calendar: holidays, seasons and time away
GlirOS knows the season, the public holidays, customs and special days of 14 countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Spain, Mexico, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland), worked out on the device. Each message carries one short calendar line (the season, today and what is close), a greeting once on the day ("God jul!"), and how long since the last talk; after a week or more away the model also hears what passed since. A question like "when is Easter?" or "is Monday a holiday?" is answered from the calendar first, then the web as usual. Settings > Tools > Calendar: Calendar in the chat (off: nothing added), Online calendar extras (famous birthdays, on this day and news headlines from Wikipedia via tools.gliros.com; the request has the date and language only, the country never leaves the device) and the country (automatic from the time zone). The Calendar & seasons tool (in the tool catalogue) shows the year, what is coming and on this day in a panel.
This guide is the same text GlirOS itself uses to answer questions about GlirOS.
