Keeping tools up to date
In the desktop app, GlirOS looks at the tool catalogue after start-up and once a day (Settings > Tools > Look for new tools by itself; nothing from your chats is sent). Nothing updates by itself: you choose when.
Where it shows
- Settings > Tools marks the tool Update available, with Update to v… on its row and Update all above the list.
- The bell says so once for each new version.
- When you use the tool in a chat, the answer may mention it once.
What an update keeps
- Your settings, the tool's saved data and a paid tool's licence stay.
- A built-in tool can get a newer version from the catalogue; Back to the built-in version undoes it, and a new GlirOS brings its own.
- Tools you made yourself (the ToolMaker, or added from a file) never change by themselves.
- In the web version, tools come from gliros.com and are always the newest.
